More Alice WIP..

Alice work continues through the hailstorm of GD Germany posts.. thankfully those are over right? :)

Working hard on smoothing out the blending on Alice now. She is coming along nicely, and I am thinking she is getting close to finished.

Things to fix are the lens, parts of her shirt/dress under the apron, and some more shading on the apron.

I know the face could use some more work, but damn if I will be touching it any more.

Hopefully I will get her finished this week, and then begin work on the rabbit. Also finish up the base itself.

Unfortunately for the base though is that my order from Germany did not arrive to the correct location. So a lot of the items I wanted to add to it to give it some life are not with me :( Let's see if I can make it work without it though.. am not too hopeful.

Anyways.. let me know what you think of Alice now, and the blending on the dress now compared to the previous incarnation! Cheers!

  1. Nice :) Face is smooth & improved (sounds like a commercial for yogurt) and the white apron is much better. It's classic Alice, plus it helps bring out the highlights in the blue. very cool

  2. I know I am not able to paint something like this in hundred years but: I realised something while looking at the picure -> My eyes are always drawn to the "glowing" skirt. Maybe its just me or the picture but for me the focus seems not to be right.

    1. Thanks for the compliment Paradox0n..

I can see what you mean also though. The skirt "glowing" or otherwise, is pulling focus. I am not too sad about that.. but I will see what I can do to the face to make it come back into focus also. I hope once on the base, she will be the right level, and the bright blue of the skirt will tie in nicely to the teal/turquoise of the base and not stick out too much from there. Will see, but thanks for that fresh eyes look at the model! Very much needed!

    1. Thanks Anne. Have to say it is a combination of a lot of sources these days. MV crew, Dervish, Brushbrothers forums and all the people there giving me tips over FB chat daily. But I expect huge leaps after the next workshops at the end of September.
