Alice.. where art thou? WIP Shot..
I had the opportunity to work on it over the weekend due to everyone out of the house.
This is about 8 hrs in so far.. which is quite long for me.. but after the events of GD Germany ( expect many references back to this over the coming weeks! ) and the inspiration that came with it I just dove hard into this project.
Biggest things on this is the blue dress so far. It has gotten to a level that I am happy with. Especially after getting all the feedback from the guys over at Brushbrothers once more!
Only part I am not happy with so far is the striped apron in the front. Need to fix that and her little bow on top of it. But the rest is coming together nicely finally.
So keep your eye on this topic as I work on it more throughout the week and hope I can get it finished before the contest finishes that it is meant for!

I do indeed have that button. It is hanging on my Finalist Medal which is hanging off of my lights on my painting desk! But still lots to go on this model.. so more contrast is coming! Mmm wonder if I should watch a certain DVD to help me along with this project? :)

DeleteYou do need more contrast and you need to work on the face a bit. Smooth out the transitions to give her a softer, more feminine look. She's steampunk, but she is a beauty as well. Let her speak to you. She will tell you how she should look.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne.. She is about 50% finished if I am honest with myself. Maybe not even that far along. I am working on the face today more to smooth it out. right now all she is saying to me though is "Get me finished already!".. so will do my best!
DeleteVery nice, the blue is very appealing. I really like the dark subdued striped leggings, but yeah, not sure it's working for the top apron-bib piece (whatever that piece of clothing is called).
