Alice... accident and almost finished..

So the contest prizes posts are finished ( for now ).. so back to some normal posts..

Ok, so we came home from work ( or the dentist in my case ) and saw this on the floor near my desk. :(

I can honestly say that I was more than a little upset and sad to see this.. especially after all the work that I have put into it recently.. It was quite clear that the cats are trying to send me a message here. I guess they don't like their new food or something.

So repair operations were called in to help remedy the situation.

You can barely see, but they exist, the hairline cracks on the bricks from where it fell and snapped off. Will update them to show them as being part of the design now.

I have also put the Rabbit onto the socket alongside Alice now. A few more tweaks are required before I can call it fully finished also.

So please have a look at the final set up of the socket here. All photos are from the workbench and with the cell phone. Expect much better ones soon enough.. just have to touch up a few points and call it 100% finished. I am really pleased with how this turned out, aside from the damaged aspects, and I am hopeful for how it will do within the Brushbrothers contest coming up.

    1. Hey, It is the OOP Resin version of the Alice from guild of Harmony. They have metal versions still available, or you might be able to find one of them online still through ebay but I dont suspect them to be cheap!

  2. Well, you can't spell Malice without Alice. Cats are jerks (I can't wait to get our new kittens but my wife wants me to wait a year). That looks stunning. I won't make the contest deadline but i will finish my entry because i am having fun with it!

    1. This is true Zab, though it is a shame that you won't finish on time. You have had worse things happen during your project than just the project falling though. So this is not surprising! Cannot wait to see your finished dio though!

  3. Indeed Andrew.. but after 10 yrs it is hard to say no to them. I think it recovered well indeed, but will see when I have the final pieces all put together and photographed!

La primera vez que esto ha sucedido, sin embargo, así que estoy sorprendido por ello. Oh bueno, lección aprendida de todos modos.

    1. Yes, indeed it was difficult. I had a bit of a panic attack, a bit of a rage moment, and then just shrugged my shoulders and put it all back together. Too much time invested in it otherwise..

  9. That base is complicated but is perfect for her. My daughters cat comes into my room and drinks my paint water. Silly creature.

    1. Cheers Anne! My cat also drinks my paint water. I think she likes the high it gives her.. but it is not close to where I put my WIP piecces.. so it means she diverted from her normal activities here..

  10. Thats very hard man... Next time put a cat beside Alice and your cats are happy ;-)

We have also two young cats. Best way to save WIPs for my is to put the upper shell of o cake transporter over it. But working on something like this especially for miniaturepainter with animals ;-)

Really like the project, very good chances to win.

    Best regards,Dellolyn

    1. Thanks Michael.. though if there were cake I don't think it would last long enough for the cat to nibble on these days :)

I have a display cabinet also to put items, but this was on my WIP shelf with my paints, which thankfully this was the only thing there!

I am hopeful for its chances also in the contest, but you can never be too sure though.. but fingers crossed all the same!

Cheers and good luck on yours too!
