Project Space Wolves: Puppy Love! WIP
Just a quick WIP shot here.. worked on these a bit yesterday after heading to the dentist for an emergency root canal! Yeah.. fun times.. Was told it was going to hurt when the Novocaine wore off, but I was really not ready for that! Had tried to sleep, but since that wasn't working, and I was cursing like a sailor.. I decided to just curse and paint. RAGE PAINTING ONCE MORE!!!!
So I turned my attention to assembling some models for Project UK: Batch 3, and painting up the big puppies for the Space Wolfs. Was asked to give them each their own character, so let's see if they look characterful yet or not? Paws are not finished, nor are the saddles that are on their backs.
So some photos..
The only thing, or at least one of them, that I didn't like about these models are the heads. How they get assembled, leaves a massive line cut through them. I tried to fill it with Vallejo Liquid Paste and some GS, but even afterwards it was there on some of them due to how poorly they fit.
Anyway.. as can be seen.. I tried to do some black, grey, brown colored wolves here. And variations between them. I like how the black one at the end came out actually. I used VMC Dark Prussian Blue on the hair before washing it with GW Nuln Oil. For the rest it was a mix of colors that I had on hand, combined with a variation of washes. All metal parts were 2 toned, before getting black/brown washes on top to rust or age them a bit. I don't think that the wolves would be as respectful of their metallic parts, and they would get a bit more use than the Marine parts.. just saying..
That is it for now.. more to come shortly.. cheerios!

ReplyDeleteRage painting is all the rage these days ;) Helps me get through a couple projects ever so often. Or through a plateau for new techniques.
