Project UK: Priests!

What? No updates, no comments, no articles, no nothing from me for a week??? That can't be right... or can it?

So yeah.. have been a weeeeee bit busy the last week. Coming back from the painting workshop, and a week out of the office on a business trip made for some catching up to do.

Plus it didn't help none that I started in on another model using some of the tricks and tips, but not all, that I learned from the workshop. Of course you must be asking, "But Mr. Lee.. what is this new model you have worked on?" to which I will naturally reply "It's a secret!" :)

Actually it is, cause it is for my good buddy BuRock for his birthday coming up. And as is natural, this means a quick weekend trip away to Izmir where lots of drinking, a bit of gaming, and the trading of wits ( low in stock in Izmir, but still he compensates well ) ensues. So I will post it up, but only after I leave for the trip, and at a time that it won't ruin the surprise for him either.

In the meantime, I did get the last 2 models done for Project UK, Batch 2 completed over the weekend. The dreaded priests of the tribe Bloodcoats! Had a bit of fun with them, and tried a little something new on the patchwork/scrolls.

The first is a more senior member, and the gold skull mask showing his status. Whereas the second one has some extra bits in gold, but prefers his massive chainsword to do the telling of his faith!

Dirtied them up a bit near the bottom edges, but kept them a bit more cleaner than the other Bloodcoats were. Thinking that they are more prized and thus would have access to the laundry services of the Imperium more so than the foot sloggers!

With this, that is the last of this batch. Now we wait for when I get a chance to go to UK next to drop them off, and pick up Batch 3.. which includes... MOAR IMPERIAL GUARDS!!! Who would have thunk it eh? But there are some twists in it, and I am looking forward to them all the same.

Also with this batch though, providing I can finish it in time, is a surprise for the client as well! Since this is batch 2, and batch 3 is waiting, and cause he provided me a lovely GD of Tzeentch with this batch for me. I thought it only natural to get him something that will fit his army. So expect to see it again once I get closer to handing this over. Don't want to ruin the surprise now do we? Plus it will be done at a higher than TT level.. oooo aaaaaahhhh.. and this is when everyone fawns over how good it is compared to everything else.. or at least my ego wishes that much!

Cheers, and comments are always appreciated!

  3. Nice! I am quite anti Games Workshop (At present) but can still apreciate the skill and craftsmanship involved in the painting and conversions.

  4. Very nice indeed, I do like the additional battlefield debris that you litter the bases with and the little touches on the scrolls; excellent job.

    1. Thanks Michael.. though the debris bits are from the client as he does them, and the assembly. I just do the paint ;) Easier for me, and more fun! Glad you liked the scrolls, I know they are a bit of hit or miss depending on preference..
