Project Daemons of Chaos: Sorcerer Lord of Tzeentch

Finally I have the Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord.. and I am happy to see it finished. Lots of firsts here, starting with the using of different colors to highlight purple, and then the layering of bronze/gold. Although, it is not the best work, but I tried to do as much as I could with it. Also tried the shadowing of the silver to keep it silver, but with a bit more contrast.

Biggest thing I am impressed and like about what I did with the model though is the cloak and head are done with airbrush. A slight wash with purple afterwards, but still done with the airbrush.

Color scheme was simple, but tried to stick to something Tzeentchy here, so purples and blues were the colors to go with. Not too sure on the eye pieces, but in the end it is finished now.

So he will be used in the tournament this weekend, and I have high hopes of him getting mercilessly slaughtered since he is newly painted. Which means that he will be the first thing that my opponents will go after.

In the meantime.. work on the Soul Grinder continues as well.. and I still need to start in on the second Herald of Slannesh.. let's see if I can pull this off... :)

No painting tonight, so no real updates tomorrow. Taking my team out for dinner after having to listen to me speak in a workshop for 2 days straight! No rewards unless you do the time.

Enjoy, and hope to have some good battle reports to provide next week from this weekend's tournament!

  3. Wow, that airbrush work is amazing. Is it difficult? Maybe I should look into airbrushing if it yields such results.

    1. Thanks Adam. Honestly it is not that difficult, and I have converted a few of my buddies over here to get involved with it.

  5. All kind of purple colours on this model is awesome. However its a pitty you did not payed more attention to the metals. Even just one more hour spent on them would catapult this model to much higher standard. Anyway GJ

    1. Thanks Tryzna for the comments. Agreed that I need to spend more on the metals. I am hoping after this weekend I might be able to tackle it once more, and revise it a bit. I might even have to "peel" it back a bit to remove some of the roughness to it in order to redo it properly. Let's see how well it does this weekend, and go from there ;)

  6. I really like it. The purple is really well done! My only siggestion would be painting a bit osl from the Lava, but I dunno if a red osl would work really well onnpurple cloth.

    1. Thanks Tuffskull.. agreed that I am not sure on the OSL bit of red on purple either. So I just left it off :) Though the model is made of pure magic so.. maybe he creates such a bright aura, that the lava is not bright enough? Then I might be able to do purple on the rocks? Mmmm ideas now.. :)
