Painting on the move..
Well.. another week down, and another week of travel completed with it. And with each travel that I take, I try to get a bit of work on some models completed alongside it.
So this week I took with me some of the second batch from UK, and worked on the Renegade Tiger Fighters.
I had forgotten my palette back in Istanbul, so while in Belgium I improvised and used a scrap of paper for the time being. But it did mean that I couldn't do as much in the dirty wash department as I couldn't just dump the wash onto the paper.
Few things still need to be done like the camo pattern and some find details and washes. However it is better than just letting them sit around waiting for me to show up at some time..
Was nice to come back from the workshops though, and unwind to painting up some lines of infantry models. Nothing shuts out all other thoughts than repeating the same pattern or activity over and over again while trying to focus.
Some blurry, poorly lit photos below..
Next week I am on holidays so expect more fluff related articles to appear.. including a 3 parter on other commission artists that I pull inspiration from!

Have you counted how many minis you've painted this year? I bet the number is staggering ;)
ReplyDeleteMmm no I haven't. But a safe estimate would be around 800-1000 so far? Will have to do a check and get back to you ;)
DeleteThis is a nice bunch and to do this many whilst travelling is impressive.
ReplyDelete"Borrow" a saucer from a restaurant and use that for a pallet.
Thanks, and good idea. Never thought of that already. Had "borrowed" a cup for the cleaning water, why not a saucer as well? Next time I guess..
DeleteI have to agree with the Ferret, your workload is impressive, I think you've painted more minis this year than I have in five, and I'm no slouch.
ReplyDeleteHeh.. Thanks Chris. Actually this has been a record year for me also though. I think I have painted more in the last 2 yrs than I have in the previous 10..
DeleteUnbelievable! There is just no stopping you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment. Though next week I will not touch anything hobby related due to going on Holidays!
DeleteA machine, a good painting machine sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran, much appreciated.
DeleteI'm really impressed! What do you use to transport your paints, mini's and brushes when travelling?
ReplyDeleteThanks, I actually use a Battlefoam Miniatures case that I bought for my Infinity guys. It is small enough to pack in a layer of models, and then about a dozen paints and 3-4 brushes. Along with ( when I remember ) the palette and wash cloth to wipe the brushes with. This time however I took a larger box from KR Multicase ( the clients ) with me to transport the models, but still the Battlefoam one for the paints/brushes. Just helps to have a larger suitcase ;)
