Munich and this week at a glance..
Ok, so not the most exciting post to have at the moment.. and probably not one that many will care too much for.. but it is my filler after a nice long weekend here in UK. But be aware that I have many more better miniature related articles coming this week! So have patience!
On the Friday before Duke, while we waited for everyone to arrive and for work to finish for many others, I had a nice tour out and about in Munich. I even met up with the German Leprechaun friend Sydney who gave me a quick walk around after a pint ( or 2! ) for our liquid lunch!
Tons of statues which are a common site in many a European city. And always a great thing to take photos of.
But after my private lessons with Massive Voodoo though, one of the things I looked out for was interesting textures and weathered sections. Some could already be seen on the statues but I don't particularly paint a lot of statues.. so I needed more real world type references...
Like on bridges or canals..
Or on pieces that have been out in the weather and rusted or gotten fairly old..
And since I want to do more sci-fi/real time pieces in the future I thought about vandalism like graffiti..
But then again some greenery...
But this only lasted until I ran into the park that had naked men sunbathing... to which I was done..
So yeah.. more photos than words.. and mostly all reference materials for future projects that I hope to work on. Hope it helps you too.. and now back to more miniature related pieces! Promise!!!!
Lovely pictures! Always wanted to go to Munich!
ReplyDeleteGreat place! Will be going back at some point!
DeleteI am just glad that there are no pictures of Naked men sunbathing!
ReplyDeleteWill email them to you Clint.. I know that Ray and Fran have asked for copies already ;)
DeleteSo you're not going to be painting up naked men lying in a park? I see. Well, I suppose there might be something else you are painting that will be interesting :P Lovely reference photos, BTW.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the reference photos.. but if you want the sunbather photos just let me know and I will email them to you also ;)
DeleteI told you, keep an eye out for the bananawhales, they exist, if you look close enough! And I don't mean the naked german in the park :D
